Jaymie Bowles (she/her)

Illness: lung cancer, ALK+, diagnosed at 32 y.o.

Who I am: Radio station owner, avid pool player, full-time maintenance manager and stage 4 lung cancer warrior.

A little more: I am Jaymie Bowles, aka Jams and Ms. CEO, and I am the founder and owner of WJMS Radio. I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in December of 2018 despite being an active and healthy non-smoker.

But diagnosis aside, I continue to work a full-time job and run the operations of WJMS Radio, while hosting two shows. I work out as much as I can and try to stay as active as possible.

I am always trying to show people that I am not my diagnosis. And now, as fate would have it, WJMS Radio provides me with a platform to bring awareness to my cause, while inspiring those around me to keep moving forward. Additionally, through my involvement with the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, The White Ribbon Project, LUNGevity, and the American Lung Association, I am able to share my story with the world to help erase the stigma that lung cancer is a "smoker's disease.”

My motto is I may have cancer, but cancer does NOT have me.
